Low Loss Three Dimensional Wound Core Transformer


The core is the key difference of a 3D triangular wound core transformer. Instead of using a traditional planar laminated core, the transformer adopts a three-dimensional wound core structure. The three core limbs are arranged in a triangular form, creating a balanced magnetic path for each phase.

This structure helps improve transformer efficiency in several ways:

For distribution systems that remain energized for long periods, no-load loss is an important part of lifetime operating cost. 3D Triangular Oil-Immersed Transformer Features

2. The operating noise is lower. In traditional transformers, due to the magnetostriction effect, the silicon steel sheets generate vibration noise. However, the wound core structure has stronger integrity and less vibration, and the noise can usually be reduced by about 10 decibels.

3. The short-circuit withstand capability is stronger. The three-dimensional structure makes the winding support more stable, providing better mechanical stability when encountering short-circuit current impact.
